Tool design


 

Tool design is carried out by our highly qualified engineering and tool design team with many years of professional experience. Using the component models and product drawings received from our customers, we use the AUTOFORM finite element software to define the materials required for the component: spread and roll sizes (bandwidth, front pushing). Tool design is conducted in a full 3D environment (using CREO design software). In the majority of cases, the design work begins with simulation. 

 

 

We use the AUTOFORM software to optimise the operations defined with the manufacturing technology according to the following main criteria:

  • shaping
  • wall thinning
  • resilience

Once simulation is completed, our engineers start developing the 3D model followed by the 2D drawing documentation of the tools.  Prior to submission, the finished designs are also submitted to an AUTOFORM analysis in order to ensure that the required results can be delivered.
