2D and 3D laser cutting

Two important components of the manufacturing of our sheet metal parts are the Trumpf 7020 disc laser and Trumpf 7040 carbon dioxide laser, our 5-axis laser cutting machines, which allow us to perform 2D and 3D cutting as well.

The table dimensions for the Trumpf 7020 are 2000 × 1500 mm, whilst those for the Trumpf 7040 are 4000 × 1500 mm. The working height is 750 mm for both machines. Based on these data, it is apparent that these devices are suitable for the cutting of large sheets and parts or multiple parts at the same time.

The resonators (which are responsible for generating the laser beam) have a cutting power of 5 kW in the case of the 7040 machine and 4 kW in the case of the 7020, which enables the cutting of thick materials as well as laser welding.

The assist gas used can be either oxygen or nitrogen for both devices, which allows the cutting of parts with various material thickness and composition.

Our manufacturing capacity allows us to manufacture products (without the involvement of subcontractors) that require operational steps that cannot be performed with tools due to the complicated geometry of the products.

With the help of this equipment, the steps of product manufacturing can be optimised in the case of certain new projects, for example laser cutting can be used as a more economical alternative instead of a trimming tool when manufacturing small batches of products.

In addition the process of providing customers with “off tool parts” can be shortened significantly, which may constitute a competitive advantage.

A particular advantage of using our technology is that we ourselves are able to design and manufacture the devices responsible for holding the material being cut in place with the help of our own manufacturing equipment.

This ability translates into significant optimisation of the series of technical operations necessary for the manufacturing of our products and allows us to improve cost-efficiency.
