2. Detailed provisions for cookies or similar files

2.1. The Data Controller may in some cases collect and process data that do not in themselves allow the identification of the Data Subject, but in certain cases may be considered personal data. Such information may include, for example, the IP address of the Data Subject, the type of web browser, computer and operating system used by the Data Subject, language settings, Internet service provider, date/time data, or the domain name of the website or advertising from which the Data Subject has accessed the Website or to which it has accessed through the Website. This data is stored in a way that is not suitable for the identification of the Data Subject, therefore, as long as their connection with the Data Subject cannot be restored, it does not qualify as personal data. This information is used by the Data Controller for the efficient operation of the Website, for the user behaviour related to the Website, for learning about various trends, and for collecting demographic data about the visitors to the Website as a whole, from which conclusions can be drawn in order to increase the efficiency of the Data Controller's marketing and advertising services and communication.

2.2. For the same reasons, the Data Controller may store certain data on the Data Subject's computer when the Data Subject views the Website. This data is stored in the form of a ‘cookie’ or similar file on the Data Subject's computer. For example, cookies can be used to display websites or advertisements in a way that best suits the interests of the Data Subject. However, cookies can be deleted from your computer's hard drive using most web browsers, all cookies can be blocked, and the Data Subject can use settings to receive a warning before a cookie is stored (see Section 12 for more details).

2.3. The Website's online Services, advertisements and interactive applications may also use ‘cookies’ and other technologies, such as beacons and pixel tags, to optimise its Services.

2.4. For more details about other data processing used on the website and the rights of the data subject, see the information on general data processing related to online interfaces.

2.5.The meaning of ‘cookie’

A ‘cookie’ is typically a small file of letters and numbers that our web server sends to a browser cookie file on the hard drive of the data subject’s computer. This will help our website, for example, remember a user device when our web server and its web browser communicate with each other. The main purpose of the cookie is for the web server to offer a website tailored to the Data Subject and to provide the visitor a more personal experience tailored to their needs, when the Data Subject visits the Website.

2.6.Cookies used by the Data Controller

The Website uses two types of cookies:

a) Session cookies: these are temporary cookies that remain in the browser's cookie file until the Data Subject leaves the Website. These cookies are essential for the operation of certain applications and functions of the website.

b) Persistent cookies: in order to ensure a better user experience, the Data Controller also uses persistent cookies (e.g., to optimise navigation). This type of cookie stays in the cookie file of the Data Subject browser for a much longer period of time. This period of time depends on how Internet browser of the Data Subject has been set up. Persistent cookies provide information to the web server whenever the Data Subject visits the website. Persistent cookies are also called tracking cookies.

2.7.Third-party cookies

For advertising purposes or in order to optimise marketing communications, the Data Controller may also use third-party advertising companies. Third-party advertising companies may also use cookies to assess the effectiveness of their advertisements and to make their advertising content more personal. Information that may be collected by third party advertising companies includes data such as geographic location data (as inferred from the IP address) or contact information such as e-mail addresses if collected through the Website.

2.8.Server log files

By viewing the website, the Controller's web servers automatically store the IP address of the data subject.

The purpose of data processing is to check the security of the data controller's website.

As the storage of log files is essential to ensure access to the website based on the available technology, the the legal ground of data processing is Section 13/A (3) of Act CVIII of 2001 on Electronic Trading Services and Certain Issues Concerning Services in an Information Society, according to which the data controller may process personal data that are essential for the operation of the website in order to make the website available.

The data is stored by the data controller for 365 days from the date of creation.

2.9.Web beacon and pixels

E-mail messages from the Website and the Data Controller may also contain web beacons or pixel tags. A web beacon is a typically transparent graphic image, usually no larger than 1x1 pixels, that is placed on a web page or in an e-mail in order to monitor the online activity of a person visiting the website or sending an e-mail. Web beacons are included in the technologies used by third parties to monitor the activity of visitors to our website. This makes it possible to collect information about via which computer, which websites, when and where (country, city) were visited.

2.10.Enabling and Disabling Cookies

You have the option to maintain and/or delete cookies as you will. Please visit aboutcookies.org for more information. You can delete all cookies stored on your computer and disable their installation in most browsers. In this case, however, you may need to make some settings manually each time you visit a particular page, and you may also be aware that certain features and functions may not work.

Please note that certain services of the Website will not be available if you disable the use of cookies.
