Celebrating its 70th anniversary, the HAJDU Group has reached another significant milestone. Its subsidiary, HAJDU Zrt., a manufacturer of building engineering products committed to renewable energy, now has its production partially powered by locally generated electricity.

As part of its mid-term development plan, an industrial-scale solar park was officially inaugurated on October 25, 2022. The ceremony was opened by Tibor Tóth, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance responsible for public finance and international relations, who emphasized the importance of renewable energy projects in the current energy supply situation: “The primary goals today are to ensure energy supply, protect jobs, and mitigate the harmful effects of the war and sanction-driven inflation.”

During the handover, Anna Dedéné Novotni, Vice President of the HAJDU Group Board of Directors, highlighted that over recent years the company has modernized its entire infrastructure network as part of a comprehensive energy program. “Due to the drastic increase in energy prices, this current development has become even more valuable for us. Thanks to the generated green energy, HAJDU Zrt.’s electricity costs will decrease in the future, while contributing to a stable energy supply and ensuring long-term, reliable operations.”

The solar park, covering an area of 10,000 m² with 496 kW total capacity, was installed on the ground starting in early spring, and the work was completed in nearly seven months according to schedule. The newly established facility features 1,280 solar panels, producing approximately 585,000 kWh annually, which will cover about 20% of the company’s electricity demand.
